We implemented a hospitalist residency program approximately 2 years ago and have seen the success from doing this.

This first program would be the template for initiating other residency programs in our different specialties and departments.

This consortium is a wonderful platform to further this well needed educational foundation.

Candice Rettie

Hi Cecelia,

So glad that you are an active participant in the Consortium -- hearing about programs like yours, how you make it work and how you keep creating best practices is invaluable. Best, Candice

Barbara Dominguez

Will there be video, audio or literature available from the conference for people who were not able to attend regarding best practices, recommendations and pitfalls to avoid in setting up and maintaining a residency program?

Candice Rettie, PhD

Hi Barbara, Hope that you can join us for our next conference. We plan to post selected materials from the First Annual Conference. In the mean time, I recommend that you download the digital book produced by CHC, Inc as a work product from their HRSA National Cooperative Agreement Learning Collaborative that provided guidance to Federally Qualified Health Centers who were designing new postgraduate NP training programs. The book is entitled: Training the Next Generation: Residency and Fellowship Training for Nurse Practitioners in Community Health Centers.

Here is the link -- https://www.weitzmaninstitute.org/npresidencybook

Best wishes, Candice
